god does not make mistakes

it's for mortals to be incorrect
and to assume we are informed
of the content of her intent
and that we are somehow worthy
of the divine authority
of judgement

god does not make mistakes

only god knows why I was given this soul
brought into the world splintered
while others arrived whole
only god knows my purpose
only god knows my service
only god knows
why you think I deserve this

god does not make mistakes

and i am not mistaken in this:
I do not know what lesson
I was made to teach
but I will teach you compassion
with my teeth bared and my hands
filled only with prayers
I do not know
why you think you know what passed
between god and i in the dark nights
of torment

but god does not make mistakes
god makes clay
it is up to us to mould it
and to master the divine art
of forgiveness
for whatever others think
we should make of it

god made no mistake with me
she did not mismake me
she asked me to be strong enough
to make myself

a woman.
