good times are coming soon

no friend of mine has died by sickness
other than depression
and on days like today i forget
there's any other way to end
the court of suffering's lifelong session;
how else convince the jury that it's time to adjourn
if you can't raise a weapon to your own flesh
how will death ever learn to take you?
if I thought there was anyone waiting in that grey and distant land
i'd have no reason to stay my hand
so don't give me fresh hope
just give me quick goodbyes
