and they confiscated my passport

It feels like something I think when
Google Maps puts a copyright marker on the sky
over Kefalonia
Not very obtrusive, you might say,
but there it is, hanging in the blue
over the bay, between Paraskevi and Paralia
Where a cloud might be, on a less perfectly blue day.
And I know, I know, it's just the data
It's just the images, it's just the labour
of reproducing a little slice of Ionian heaven
And it's not the same as copyrighting the sky,
And am I stupid, and don't I care about progress
And who do I think I am,
talking in metaphors and emotions
when the world is made of money and power;
but it still feels like something,
and the world is made of atoms and air,
which you can see so clearly beyond that
"unobtrusive" copyright on the Ionian sky over Kefalonia,
and it feels like something when Google Maps
plasters a copyright notice across the perfect
and ancient blue of the Greek sky,
no matter how much you say, about busines rights,
and the value of competition,
it still feels like something
that won't be talked away.
