Love is a prion disease

I love you, that easy prophylactic
against criticism and dissent,
has been too-oft bandied by language
to mean much hereon in.
The beetle-winged castings of former selves,
the dead young that yearned for it,
let them mulch down and grow
a little contemplative silence.
I am looking to be understood,
not through the contortions of callow language,
or easily-misinterpreted touch,
but by the instinct of two minds bent
in the same direction.
