tmesis is a greek word and speaks to a feature in the language of not only greeks;
the insertion of a particle or word between the syllables of a second, to create a third.
in english this splits assunder syllables which made a whole sense together, and renders them individually nonsense; unparseable alone, and
in english this is only ever done
with a profanity.
as if tearing apart a thing that works and shoving something into it that doesn't belong there
is obscene.
invariably the focus is on the interloper,
which no doubt makes it feel very special.
sometimes a phrase experiences the same violence.
For example:
good fucking luck.
